Ya now google going to rule the mobile world too
Android is an open source operating system for mobile devices which is developed by Google and another cool thing with this is it uses the linux kernal.
Google revealed the Android on 5th Nov 2007 after the announcement of the formation of Open Handset Alliance(OHA).
The Open Handset Alliance (OHA) is a business alliance of 48 firms including Google, HTC, Intel, Motorola, Qualcomm, Samsung, LG, T-Mobile, Nvidia and Wind River Systems to develop open standards for mobile devices.
On 9 December 2008, OHA was announced that 14 new members would be joining the Android project including Sony Ericsson, Vodafone Group Plc, Asustek Computer Inc, Toshiba Corp
Also Nokia, AT&T and Verizon Wireless are not members of the alliance.
T-Mobile G1 (also known as the HTC Dream) is the first mobile works with Android Operating System. It was released in the US on October 22, 2008. Soon it will be available in European countries in early 2009.
Surely Android going to a threat for big companies like Nokia, Microsoft(ha ha here too linux came!!!) and Palm in future
